Daniel Hernandez Youth Foundation Junior Fishing Club

The Daniel Hernandez Youth Foundation Junior Fishing Club is a exciting club for youth ages 08-15. On the third Saturday of each month youth get together at our club house located at Legg Lake in the beautiful Whittier Narrow Recreation Area in South El Monte, CA to learn. We start off each meeting in our club house covering subject like, how to catch a fish, what tackle to use, how to tie knots, fish identification, and how to keep our oceans, lakes and communities clean. After about thirty minutes in the classroom setting, it’s outside to practice casting and then off to the lake for fishing!

The Daniel Hernandez Youth Foundation provides a team of volunteers who work tirelessly to prepare, plan and operate each meeting to ensure that all participants have a fun, memorable and safe day of fishing and learning. Fishing tackle is provided for loan, and at the end of the meeting a free lunch is held for members. This is a great way to get your child into fishing.
